I have noticed lately that almost every time I use my lance in of the Argent Tournament quests, the lance disappears from my inventory. This rarely happened before, but has dramatically increased in frequency lately on my Shaman. Not sure if the Argent Tournament has anything against shamans, but I have found out that my shaman is not the only one suffering from this strange phenomena. As I have learned from my guildies, some of them too have a similar case with lances, and this instigated me to do some investigation to try and solve this mystery.
After doing some extensive research, and carefully observing the environment at the Argent Tournament grounds, I have come to a conclusion which poses a threat to all our lances and perhaps to the foundations of the Argent Tournament buildings, too!
My research lead me to some old books related to the race of the Alliance humans. One of the books speaks of creatures that lived inside houses and buildings of old. Invisible to the eye, they were malicious enough to turn wooden furniture and structures to dust and cause weak foundations to crumble and fall. With the very limited access I have to current literature belonging to the humans, there is no asserting if such creatures still exist. Still, there is no reason why not, since the humans still depend on wood in their daily lives, as so do many of the other races of both Horde and Alliance.
The mite as illustrated in some old Alliance books
Drawing conclusions with similarities to what is happening to our lances, I say that we have a case of lance-mites infecting and destroying the lances that we pick at any of the available Argent Dawn camps, including the Argent Tournament ground in Icecrown.
To confirm this with further evidence, I scouted the Argent Tournament grounds several times, and was surprised at what I found. Apparently, the humans carried with them some uninvited guests from Stormwind and what was once a common household mite, turned into a menace that targets our lances. Why lances? Pictorial recordings created through an advanced device I have obtained through one of my valuable goblin acquaintances, suggest that there is a huge mite, probably something like a mite queen, that strolls around the Argent Tournament grounds, almost unnoticed. It is currently unclear if more than one of these huge mites exist, yet
they must be behind producing the invisible lance-mites that we cannot see. There is no doubt though that this is the work of agents of the Lich King. The unnatural size of the creature combined with its intent to impede our Argent Tournament training, must be the result of one of the Lich King’s attempts to hinder our progress and weaken our resolve in destroying him and his scourge army.
Looking at the pictorial recordings below, and comparing them to reference sketches from the old books I’ve researched, you would no doubt agree with my conclusions. It
is easy to discern the similarities between the creature in the evidence I have provided and the one from the old sketches.
